Join Heidi of Desert 2 District Design for a floral watercolor map as you fill in the DC outline!
About this event
In this in-person outdoor class, you'll learn how to paint loose florals and then use the techniques you learned to fill a D.C. map (pre-printed on watercolor paper for you) with your own unique bouquet. Your Kit will include: (1) a watercolor set, (2) a pre-printed map on watercolor paper; (3) paintbrush; (4) frameable 5x7 sample design created by Heidi.

This Sunday (10/20): Brookland Exchange!
The second annual Brookland Exchange is a pop-up makers market that aims to support local artists and makers, creative expression and interaction between community and creative commerce on the Arts Walk, Brookland at Monroe Street Market. Find everything from local handmade art, food, and entertainment by the community. I’m looking forward to being part of it this year and will have a full tent with both d2d designs/prints, block printed goods and some of my fine art as well.
This year, Brookland Exchange welcomes Tiny Show! by Hen House DC, an exhibition of works by women, 5"x 5" or smaller in addition to hosting over 40 local creative business.
This second Brookland Exchange is taking place on Sunday, October 20th 11-5pm at Monroe Street Market. The
Arts Walk, located next to the Brookland Metro Station on the Red Line.
This Saturday (10/19): Bethesda Anthropologie Pop-up!
I’m very excited to be part of the Bethesda Anthropologie’s first birthday celebration! Come see me from noon to 4pm—I’ll be there with prints, a small run of DC cactus flag bags, and cards, along with other local artists! The store will also have sips, sweets, and daily raffles all weekend long.

TLC Drawing Night at She Love Me Flower Shop
I’m so excited to be joining the amazing local girl gang behind The Lemon Collective a for drawing night on February 27!
I’ll will guide the group through a series of plant still life arrangements at She Loves Me, a flower shop in Petworth, featuring a variety of fabrics, textures, and, of course, cacti. We'll start quickly, with 1 minute drawings to warm up, and then increase the time you have to sketch each arrangement as the night progresses.
Tickets: $10
NO DRAWING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. This is a fun relaxed evening of casual drawing with people you might know, people you've just heard of, people you've stalked on instagram, and perfect strangers. IT'S GOING TO GREAT.

Night Market at Tiger Fork
Join us for Tiger Fork's last Night Market of the year! Tiger Fork will host a variety of food and drinks stands throughout the restaurant along with a DJ to keep the energy going all night.
Guest chefs Kevin Tien of Himitsu and Tae Strain of Momofuku CCDC will host their own food stands serving specialty dishes as well as Caroline Yi of Sunday Morning Bakehouse who will feature seasonal baked goods. Guests can taste a variety of spirits including Bluecoat Gin as well as Widow Jane Apple Rye while Tiger Fork’s beverage director, Ian Fletcher, will feature his Traditional Chinese Medicinal cocktails.
Traditional Chinese market items will be sold, like specialty candies, fruits, trinkets, jewelry, herbs and gifts. I’ll be there doing a live painting and will be selling prints of some of my favorite D.C. illustrations, and a DJ will curate a fun playlist throughout the night. No ticket or reservation for the event is required, as all offerings will be first-come, first-served.
